We’re so excited to announce the release of 2 new white wines for this spring! ✨
First up, we have our 2025 Albariño. This comes from the organically farmed Terra Alta Vineyard in the Clements Hills AVA in Lodi, where warm days and cool evenings allow for full flavor development while preserving natural acidity. A long, even growing season gave us beautiful balance and freshness, and the wine shows it—bright and lively with aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, honeydew, and white flowers. On the palate, you’ll find notes of lime, peach, nectarine, and pear, all wrapped in crisp acidity and a clean, refreshing finish.

This 2023 Blanc de Blancs is made with Chardonnay grapes from the Wildwood vineyard in Sonoma—the same vineyard as our 2024 Sauvignon Blanc. 2023 was a spectacular vintage, and we’re thrilled with how this wine came out. Expect delicate bubbles and bright acidity, warmed by notes of brioche—reminiscent of many of the champagnes we tried on our recent trip to Épernay in France. We can’t wait for you to try it! 🥂

We’ve been in the vineyards, overseeing the crush, the presses, and the fermentations in the cellar this season. This year’s Sonoma and Napa vineyards delivered beautifully. A slow, steady growing season allowed the grapes to develop full complexity while retaining their signature brightness and elegance.

We also brought in a few new vineyard sites, which we’re confident will produce exceptional wines. We can’t wait to share them with you as they come to life in the bottles over the next few years. 🍷

We’re serious about bubbles here at @shumacherwines. Our love for sparkling wine has taken us around the world—from the legendary cellars of Champagne and the hidden gems of Luxembourg to the vibrant vineyards of the Yarra Valley in Australia. So when the opportunity came to visit Valdobbiadene—the heart of top-tier Prosecco production—we couldn’t resist.

Italy has always held a special place in our wine journey (we even lived there for six months!), and this trip was a perfect reminder of why we fell in love with wine in the first place.

40 minutes outside of Venice, the full name of this wine region is Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G., and the entire region is a UNESCO world heritage site. Made from the Glera grape, the best Proseccos hail from the steep hills of Cartizze and Rive, and are aromatic and intense, with bright floral and fruit notes balanced with salinity and mineral richness from the soil. True to Italian hospitality, every tasting or glass of wine came with local cheese and cured meats, and some of the winemakers stayed to speak with us for hours in their vineyards and homes. This is a truly special place. 🇮🇹✨

Elevated vineyards and cooler conditions yield a Cabernet Sauvignon of remarkable complexity—layered with notes of blackberry, violet, vanilla, spice, and savory herbs, all wrapped in refined tannins and a graceful structure. This elegant wine shines on its own, and also pairs beautifully with rosemary-crusted lamb, wild mushroom pasta, or aged cheese. 🍷

🍇🇱🇺 One of our favorite wine trips was to the Moselle region of Luxembourg (just across the border from France, and on the other side of the river from the more well-known Mosel wine region of Germany).

We were lucky to be able to visit during their annual spring wine festival, when local winemakers hold open houses to share all of their wines with the community. This small but vibrant wine region is home to crisp, mineral-driven Rieslings, elegant Pinot Noirs, and the beautifully crafted Crémant de Luxembourg—a sparkling wine made in the traditional method.

We especially love visiting small countries with unique wine cultures to draw inspiration from, and this hidden gem is absolutely worth a visit.

Wrapping up a very busy and successful harvest weekend! We went out to the vineyards and took samples to test, the next morning grapes were meticulously harvested and sorted, and then we checked and tasted our wine already in the barrels from last year’s vintage. We are so excited about the quality of everything in the barrels, and can’t wait to bottle our wines and share more in the coming months! 🍇 🍷

We are Ryan & Katie Shumacher, a husband and wife winemaking team based in Southern California. We both earned our Sommelier level 1 designation in 2023.

Our wine journey began almost two decades ago while living in Tuscany, discovering the unique local varietals found there. Since then, we have traveled much of the wine world (pictured here in Australia’s Hunter Valley), learning from hundreds of winemakers along the way, in order to be able to bring our own dream of making high-end, international caliber boutique wines to fruition.
